Locally, nationally and around the world, COVID-19 has transformed our social and economic landscape. In the Gunnison Valley, the community was essentially "closed for business" as of March 15, 2020, the height of Spring Break high season. Local nonprofits and businesses will see significant negative impacts for the foreseeable future.
Nonprofit organizations and entities serving vulnerable populations and seeing increased demand to meet basic human needs will be prioritized.
Started by two generous couples - one with $100 and one with $15,000 - no gift is too small and the sky's the limit with this COVID-19 local response fund.
UPDATE on July 1: Over $280,000 has been raised from 200 individuals, families and businesses, and $159,386 has been distributed through seven rounds of grants. You can find FAQs, helpful resources and details on where the funds have gone so far HERE.
(If you would prefer to write a check, please make it payable to Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley or CFGV. Mail to PO Box 7057, Gunnison, CO 81230, and write "COVID-19 Response" in the memo line).
